Well tonight we pulled up to our gate. A larger than barn size cat was headed for trees. I would say medium size black cat. He down. It never looked back at us. Our barn cats would have been like hey! I’m over here. Anyway. We go down our driveway pull up to the house. I tell my husband to keep the lights on me. We are deep in the country. Nothing but land all around us. 1/2 mile between neighbors. Anyway I’m walking up to the garage and see the black low to the ground animal slowly walking at the bottom of the hill in front of our house. I’m scream bloody murder and head back to the truck. (I wish I had more light & could better identify this animal) I always tell my husband I need a dash cam/body cam! My conclusion after looking at different images would be a black cougar. One out in the country near Shawnee, OK, the next I saw admittedly across a field, but in the tiny panhandle area of Okfuskee county. I grew up hiking the "mountains" north of Graham school, south of Henryetta, east of Weleetka, and saw plenty of mountain lions, but never saw the "panther" again. -AngelAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3810009914256696264.post-84577256139869728552019-06-07T08:18:09.992-05:002019-06-07T08:18:09.992-05:00Magnolia, Tx.

They have a creek that runs beside there house. A couple days went by then one night the dogs which we're in the house with them started crying as if they were scared to death. They looked outside and had multiple cats circling around and on top of house. The next day he went outside and looked around and found prints from very large around 10" to small. The next night they went out in the truck in the driveway and waited hours finally they we're all around his property again. They witnessed multiple cats and some we're black, brown and spotted. They also seen one that same morning on the ground in the pine straw they said you couldn't see it till opened it's eyes. Blended in perfectly with the under brush, pines needles etc. If it was anyone else that told me the story I probably wouldn't of believed them. I went over there a couple days later and they we're clearly still uneasy about the situation. I personally never saw one but did some intell while there and found multiple trees around the property with the bark missing off of them and many prints all over the yard and creek. I'm a native Texan and have been in the sam Houston forest and big thicket many times and have never witnessed these cats but they are being seen more and more. I'm concerned about this situation to say the least. I noticed my dog in the backyard sitting at the chain link fence looking at the field roughly 15 feet away. I went out to see what she was watching and saw the largest all black panther looking cat that I've ever seen! It was much larger than a large dog with a long tail, it was crouched down moving slowly the way cats hunt. I grabbed my dog and got in the house. I had no idea Texas had wild cats this size right in the city! I was driving past a heavily wooded, rural area during early morning hours between 3 am and 5 am when my headlights reflected 2 green glowing eyes back at me. The outline of the animal was that of a huge cat in a hunched position ready to pounce its prey. There was a fence behind the animal. The outline of its head was bigger than a large dog’s skull. It was amazing, I’ll never forget that image!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3810009914256696264.post-64574678315282785142017-05-26T20:17:19.064-05:002017-05-26T20:17:19.064-05:00This happened to myself and a friend approx. 10+ y...This happened to myself and a friend approx. 10+ years ago in Hempstead Co. Ark. We are approx. 32 miles from the N/E corner of the Texas/ Ark./ La. line commonly known as the ArkLaTex area. While driving back from hunting camp my friend and I witnessed a large jet black cat w/ long tail and sleek features. Exactly what you see as a "Black Panther" It crossed the gravel road in front of us where a High Tension power line intersected. It was later measured at 23 yards in front of our vehicle. It stepped out in the road and paused for what seemed a count of 5 or 6. It then leaped on across in one stride and then stopped to look back at us as we stopped to look at it. As we come to a full stop it proceeded to jump off the power line into the woodline. W/o a doubt it was a large cat because of the distance seen. I am a retired forester for private industry and know all the animals common to this area. So it was no Labrador canine, or black bear (because of the tail). There have been numerous sightings by others in the S/W Ark. area of black cats and strange attacks on livestock, mostly young calves, foals, and barnyard types.People have also reported missing pets (dogs/ cats) in the region along w/ strange howls and cries at night. I firmly believe we have at least some transient felines moving through this portion of the state. Most sightings have been in the Terror d' Rouge (Cruize) creek drainage which comprises bottom land hardwoods and farm acreage. TMBJAKhttp://yahoo.comnoreply@blogger.com
