Black panthers exist and have for a long time in the river bottoms of East Texas. As I stated before I didn't see the Mother she was already across the road, just a big shadow that drew my attention where I saw 3 - 4 little black panthers marching in a straight line into the brush with their little elongated tails sticking out like a balance instrument. They all looked the same, moved the same. These were not bobcats nor mountain lines nor feral cats. These were baby panthers. One of my best friends now lives about 2 miles west of this location and tells me his wife and him hear them screaming like a woman in the middle of the night, all the time. This is a location that still has Timber Rattlers with 18 buttons. A lot of this area remains untouched. It also connects by river bottoms to the Van Zandt county area where a 5 year old girl was attacked by a black panther a few years back. These animals are elusive is why they still exist.
