The genetic trait only exist in the southern Mexico and south. However, there have been sightings of regular colored jaguars in the Rio Grande River near Zapata and Del Rio, TX and south of there in Mexico. Look up publications by Texas A&M Kingville and Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo Leon, in Monterrey, MX. The face in the first couple of frames of the video makes me think so. When I was a kid in East Texas, circa 1970, we trapped one that was getting into our hen house. It was traveling via a dry creek bed. According to at least one Internet source, East Texas is just within the known range of mink, so Waxahachie might not be a huge stretch.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05952365482246343224noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3810009914256696264.post-85185481117592048522013-04-21T07:06:28.954-05:002013-04-21T07:06:28.954-05:00A bobcat by the top pond surprised me! Maybe a very young cat? Lets see, maybe 3 1/2 to 4 months old? Seemed like it to me. Anyway, I'll be viewing it many more times. I still have to try to see the weasel like creatures face again, like we saw when viewing here. By the way, last night there was a very loud Whooooop! from the hay field to the right of the pond. It is possible the hunters were there and did it, but I didn't hear their dogs. I suppose it could be an owl sound of some kind but it struck me. Thank you for coming out, we look forward to your return. ......and HURRY with that hair sample already! ;) lolAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
